Web-Based PBPK model generator released by UK Health and Safety Laboratory.
Written by Martin Spendiff
Tuesday, 31 July 2007
HSL The UK Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) has released the first public version (0.3.0) of its web-based Model Equation Generator (MEGen). The application allows rapid generation of basic PBPK models in a number of solver languages (currently Berkeley Madonna, MCSim and ASCL). A copy of MEGen can be found on this website.

WARNING: MEGen is optimised for firefox, so use that if you can. Failing that, please upgrade your copy of Internet Explorer to IE7.

This pre-alpha software is released under the General Public Licence (GPL) and aims to become a community resource that simplifies the modelling process and facilitates communication between modellers and the regulatory community by providing transparent and reproducibile PBPK models.

The software has been developed over three years with funding from a number of Government and commercial sponsors, including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Unilever, the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs/Pesticides Safety Directorate.

(EDIT: The link to MEGen has been changed to resolve speed issues. If you bookmarked the old link, please change it accordingly. )
